What I’m Reading: Sacred Summits by John Muir

Currently, I’m enjoying living in the Catskill Mountains where I grew up. I’ll confess something; until I moved to Burlington, I wasn’t much of a hiker. However, all of that changed when I had the experience of hiking Mount Washington in New Hampshire, over a long weekend in college.

His descriptions of how beautiful the woods are, and how little he needs to get by in them, are something we should all remember.

It’s worth your time to snag a few works for yourself. I enjoy his laid-back style of writing while confronting and defeating amazing feats.

I’ll hike more as a result of reading this collection of John Muir’s greatest climbs; I’m on my way.

“The mountains are calling and I must go.” -John Muir
